Functional Movement Screening (FMS™), human movement analysis, biomechanical assessment and how these affect performance, injury, and quality of life.
Paul joined the GSK HPL in February 2016 and is currently leading the movement research area that focuses on human movement analysis and biomechanical assessment to enhance quality of life and performance. He has previously worked as a lecturer on the Kinesiology and Biomechanics module at Waterford Institute of Technology and at Dundalk Institute of Technology on the Health and Physical Activity Degree Programme.
Paul is in the final year of a PhD study which focuses on the links between functional movement assessment and injury in elite performers and the use of motion capture technology to enhance movement analysis in a field setting. Paul also has over six years experience of providing sports science support to international/professional teams and elite athletes in Ireland across various sports, including; football, basketball, tennis, boxing, horse racing and rugby.
