Nutrition, metabolic adaptation, fuelling for performance and gut health.
Matthew has been working as an applied and research scientist at the GSK Human Performance Lab since it opened in 2013. He leads on a number of elite applied sport partnerships within the HPL, including close work with British Triathlon Federation and GB Canoeing. In addition to this, Matthew is a national trainer for UK Anti-Doping and sits on the education team.
Prior to the HPL he worked as a sports scientist for Lucozade Sport and lectured in Sport Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at the University of Hertfordshire, where he also managed the Human Performance Centre. Matthew is currently writing up his PhD thesis on dietary manipulation, endurance training and cellular adaptation.
