As the Director of Performance Sciences for the University of Notre Dame, USA, Duncan is responsible for coordinating the high performance structures that deliver science and medicine services to 25 NCAA men’s and women’s sports for the Fighting Irish Department of Athletics.
Duncan gained his PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Connecticut, USA and has authored/co-authored over 55 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and 6 book chapters. A former senior lecturer at the University of Northumbria, Duncan is also a founding member and former chairman of the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association.
Internationally recognised as a leading performance expert Duncan has acted as the National Lead for Strength & Conditioning to both Great Britain Taekwondo and Great Britain Basketball’s Olympic programmes, and he has coached Olympic, World Championship, and Commonwealth Games medallists from a variety of sporting disciplines.
Duncan provides the GSK Human Performance Laboratory with both academic and practical expertise in the fields of neuro-endocrine and muscle physiology in response to resistance exercise.
