Research Interests: Risk management in sport, high performance management, decision making in team sports, innovation in sport, technology in sport and talent.
At the Rugby Football Union, Scott is responsible for the men’s and women’s international science and medicine performance teams (Saxons, Under 20s, 18s and Sevens) outside the England Senior Elite Player Squad. Scott is also responsible for working in partnership with the club academies in the development of athlete performance.
Prior to this, Scott worked with the English Institute of Sport, developing and leading one of the world’s most highly regarded Research and Innovation programmes in high performance sport, impacting on multiple sports and medals counts across a number of summer and winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
He provides the GSK Human Performance Lab with insight into the mindset, behaviour, demands and needs of high performance sport as well as a critical understanding of the technical challenges faced by high performance sports, coaches and athletes. Scott has degrees from Brunel and Nottingham Trent universities and an MSc and PhD from Loughborough University.
